We, Pieter and Faith Jansen, know that we are called to spread the Gospel and the love of Jesus Christ in Uganda and its neighbors. We live in the town Entebbe in Uganda.
Uganda is a country in Africa which is almost 6 times bigger than the Netherlands (where Pieter is from) and roughly twice the size of the American state of Pennsylvania, but about similar size to Grand Britain. It has about twice as many citizens (32.4 million) as the Netherlands (16.7 million). Most people live in impoverished circumstances. The average yearly income in Uganda is about € 885.- (USD $1,184.75, GBP £770.72). Average life expectancy in Uganda is only 52 years. In Europe and the United States this is about 80 years. The number of people with AIDS is very high in Uganda, almost 1 million people there have AIDS.
The needs in Uganda are great and we wish to help there where God sends us.
